Onondaga County Parks' Beaches Set to Open

Liverpool , NY (May 15, 2008) – Oneida Shores Park in Brewerton and Jamesville Beach Park in Jamesville announce the opening of their beaches on Saturday, May 24. The beaches will be open 11am-7pm weekends, and Memorial Day, through June 15 then daily through September 1. Admission per vehicle is $4.50 and season beach passes are available for $31.50. Season passes may be used at both parks. They may be obtained at each park, at the County Parks Main Office in Liverpool or online at www.OnondagaCountyParks.com.

At Oneida Shores, on the largest inland lake in New York, there is a sandy waterfront with lifeguards, a children's playground and kayaks or Power Paddlers for kids available to rent. The dozens of shaded, lakeview campsites offer a perfect opportunity for a quick getaway.

The waters of Jamesville Reservoir and Butternut Creek are great places to rent a canoe, kayak, rowboat or paddleboat. The sandy beach with lifeguards, a waterfront playground and 18 hole disc golf course are some of the special features of this beautiful park surrounded by rolling hills.
