I LOVE NY Short Film Competition
Contest Overview
On Sunday, June 1, we officially kicked off the “I Love NY” Short Film Competition and launched the competition’s website: www.metacafe.com/iloveny. This competition invites filmmakers (ages 14 and up) to produce their take on the iconic "I Love NY" campaign and depict what they love about New York State in a 60 second short film. We are looking for innovative and creative interpretations of “I Love NY.” Films should highlight the distinctive places, unique characters and hidden gems that make New York State special to them.
Filmmakers are able to submit their short films through July 15, 2008 at www.metacafe.com/iloveny. A panel of celebrity judges, including Philip Seymour Hoffman, Tina Fey and Doug Liman, will then review the entries and select the winners which will be announced this fall.
The winning film will air on NBC during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, on Independent Film Channel, nypost.com and jetBlue Airways in-flight entertainment system. Plus, several NYS film festivals will show the film.
Prizes will be awarded to the best overall film, best young filmmaker (ages 14-18), best student filmmaker (NYS college/university student) and best regional film (6 total). Prizes include Sony HD video equipment, a scholarship to a professional film workshop, a mentorship with Doug Liman, New York film festival getaways, and more.
